About Us

Introduction

         Institute of Local Self-Governance, Nepal best organization for local governance. It is an organization that works in cooperation with 753 local levels of Nepal.
Institute of Local Self-Governance, Nepal is a autonomous body &  non  profitable & registered by the Government of Nepal( 2001 ) It was established on 2001 and as worked with various local government agencies in Nepal as such good governance, Water and Sanitation, climate  change and environment, capacity building, Community Library projects in Nepal funded by the World Bank and UNDP and INGO etc.
Our Institute was participated many international and regional conferences as First ASIA -PACIFIC Regional Conference on Capacity building in Manila, Philippines on 2001 funded by the The Netherlands government.
We were participated the World Conference of United Cities and Local Government ( UCLG ) in Barcelona, Spain on 2003 etc.

What is meaning of local good governance Now, we have more of an ideas what governance is let’s look at what good local governance is.Here’s what it should include as following.
(a) Efficient use of time, local energy and resources.
(b) Fair and thoughtful  decision -making systems.
(c) Accountability and responsibility to the public.
(d) Forward – thinking, innovative and effective members.
(e) Good inclusion of the public and member of the local community.
 (f) to promote capacity building for Municipalities & rural municipalities in Nepal.
